A California native, Skip has ever making art in one medium or other. The favorite early childhood Christmas gift was an extra large, brand new box of crayons 'with all the points on'. During high school she studied art and drawing. Attendance at University of Colorado, Michigan State and Wayne State culminated in a BFA and post graduate work at Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. She has worked in the fields of fabric design and fabrication, graphic design and interior design. Returning from the Midwest to California in 1995, she began a focused study of the human figure and portraits in oil. She has attended workshops in Michigan, California, Idaho, Texas and France. Further travel became the rich source of paintings from the western US, France, Indonesia, India, and Mexico. For the last 15 years she has painted directly in plain aire and in the studio working from sketches, studies and her own photo reference.
